Emirati envoy conditions Gaza rehab funds on progress toward Palestinian state

The UAE ambassador to the UN stated that progress towards a two-state solution is necessary before committing to the reconstruction of Gaza. Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority, are working on a joint political vision for rehabilitating Gaza and establishing a Palestinian state after the Israel-Hamas war. The Arab countries recognize the importance of including Hamas in the planning, despite not wanting them to be part of the political leadership of Gaza. This united front contrasts with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which expects the war to continue until 'total victory' is achieved.
