Israel appropriates 42 acres in West Bank's Etzion Bloc, declaring it state land

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has declared 42 acres of land in the West Bank as 'state land,' allowing for settlement development. The announcement has been praised by the Gush Etzion Regional Council Chairman, who believes it will transform the area into an international tourist center. Additionally, three illegally built buildings near a Palestinian village were demolished following a terror attack. Last month, 1,976 acres of land in the Jordan Valley were also declared state land, the largest such declaration in decades. Despite opposition, Israel has built settlements in the West Bank, home to over 490,000 Israelis.
