The Lubavitcher Rebbe's last blessing three decades ago

On a fateful Sabbath night in 1992, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, knew his time was coming. The question of whether his time would precede the arrival of the Messiah or synchronize with it hovered over every Lubavitcher in the world. As the community waited for the Messiah, they increased their Jewish observance and reached out to secular Jews, encouraging them to study Torah and perform mitzvahs. Three decades later, the impact of Rabbi Schneerson's leadership is still felt, as Chabad has more than doubled worldwide without his physical presence.
