Maritime security and industry groups have raised the risk level for ships calling at Israeli ports due to the threat of missile strikes from Hezbollah and the Houthis. The Israeli government's port authority had previously stated that the ports were operating at normal capacity. However, recent incidents, including missile attacks by Hezbollah and a drone launched by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq militia, have prompted concerns. British maritime security company Ambrey assessed the risk to vessels calling at Israeli ports to be 'elevated'. The Iran-backed Houthis have also targeted ships in the Red Sea.
