Tuvia Book, a tour guide and blogger for the Times of Israel, has spent the past 12 out of 14 months serving as a combat medic in the reserves. He joined the Palmar Asaf Medical Extraction Unit during the recent conflict in Gaza and has been fighting his way back into the IDF system. The Medical Corps reported that they have treated over 5,300 wounded soldiers during the ground offensive in Gaza. Book describes how his unit's speed, professionalism, and technology have resulted in a lower case fatality rate compared to previous wars.
