Israel has confirmed that negotiations for a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal have resumed in Qatar, as rescuers report more than 30 people killed in fresh bombardment of the territory. The violence continues to rage as Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirms that indirect negotiations with Hamas have resumed in Qatar for the release of hostages seized in the October 2023 attacks. A total of 96 Israeli hostages remain in Gaza, including 34 who are believed to be dead. Mediators Qatar, Egypt, and the United States have been engaged in months of effort to end the war, but have so far been unsuccessful.
