Egypt's foreign minister met with a Palestine Liberation Organization delegation in Cairo and called for unity and the strengthening of the Palestinian Authority amid the ongoing conflict with Israel. The minister reaffirmed Egypt's supportive stance toward the Palestinian Authority and rejected any plans to displace Palestinians from their lands. Egypt has been hosting talks between rival Palestinian groups Fatah and Hamas to discuss bringing post-war Gaza under PA control. Mediators Egypt, Qatar, and the United States have been engaged in months of talks to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
