Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has accused Israel of intensifying airstrikes in response to Lebanon's offer to negotiate, following a recent attack that killed a man in southern Lebanon. Aoun emphasized Lebanon's readiness for talks to end the Israeli occupation but noted that mutual willingness is lacking. During a meeting with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, support was expressed for urging Israel to withdraw troops from southern Lebanon and for building mutual trust.
Wadephul also called on Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah, describing it as essential for stability and the prevention of further conflict. Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi appealed for international pressure on Israel to halt its attacks, stressing that only diplomatic solutions can bring lasting calm to the region. The Lebanese government reiterated its commitment to placing all weapons under state control.
