Report: Israel agrees to compromise allowing exile of Hamas fighters, but host country still needed

A reported compromise has been reached between United States officials and the Israeli government to allow the exile of a group of Hamas fighters currently in Rafah. The plan, which would see between 100 and 200 fighters removed from tunnels on the Israeli side of the border, is stalled as no country has agreed to accept them. The Prime Minister's Office has not commented on the report. Previously, Israeli leaders had insisted they would not permit safe passage for these individuals.
