Thousands raised for students legal defense after antisemitism

A Mississippi student, Patrick McClintock, has raised over $37,000 for his legal defense after being arrested for disturbing the peace following an incident in which he allegedly yelled antisemitic slurs and threw coins at Barstool founder Dave Portnoy. The altercation occurred while Portnoy was filming a pizza review in Starkville, Mississippi, and was captured on video. The fundraiser supporting McClintock claims he is a victim of a double standard regarding free speech, while many donors have shared troubling rhetoric. University officials and Portnoy have condemned the incident, highlighting concerns over rising antisemitism and the need for equal accountability for hate speech. This is not the first time Portnoy has been targeted with antisemitic abuse during public appearances.
