Saudi Arabia has provided a $90 million grant to the Palestinian Authority, aiming to help the financially struggling government in Ramallah continue its operations. The grant was formally presented by Saudi Ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid, who emphasized Riyadh's ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian government and its financial obligations.
This assistance comes as Israel continues to withhold monthly clearance revenues, which make up the majority of the Palestinian Authority's budget, leaving public employees unpaid for months. The Israeli government has withheld billions of dollars, citing concerns over payments made by the Palestinian Authority to families of security prisoners and slain attackers.
In response to the financial crisis, Saudi Arabia, Norway, France, and Spain have launched an international fundraising campaign to prevent the collapse of the Palestinian Authority. Palestinian officials have expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia's support during these challenging times.
