Ra'am MK says Arab party will oppose Haredi draft bill, won't give government a 'lifeline'

Ra'am lawmaker Walid Taha has announced that his Islamist party will firmly oppose the government's proposed bill regarding ultra-Orthodox enlistment, making it clear that Ra'am will not support, abstain, or be absent in any way that could aid the government. This stance comes amid reports, denied by the ruling party, of alleged attempts to court Ra'am's support for the controversial legislation.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's party has refuted claims of reaching out to Ra'am, insisting that no contacts or negotiations have taken place concerning the conscription law. The political tension highlights the government's struggle to secure backing for its bill amid opposition from Arab parties.

Meanwhile, Hadash-Ta'al chairman Ayman Odeh reiterated his party's intent to complicate matters for the government, expressing a desire to support any action that could hasten its downfall.
