The Knesset has given initial approval to a bill that would extend, by one year, the temporary order permitting the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet to access computer systems managing fixed cameras. According to Hebrew media, the measure passed its first reading with 15 members of parliament in favor and four against. The proposed extension will now be reviewed by the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for further deliberation.
