The UN Security Council is set to vote on a resolution calling for humanitarian pauses and corridors in Gaza to enable aid access. This will be the fifth attempt by the council to take action since the conflict began in October. The resolution calls for compliance with international law and the protection of civilians, as well as the release of all hostages held by Hamas. It also calls for the scaling up of aid deliveries to Gaza.
