Police under orders to step in if protesters climb war memorials today

Police in London have been ordered to intervene and potentially arrest protesters who climb war memorials during today's pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Met Commander Karen Findlay has warned that officers will take decisive action against 'disrespectful' behavior. The protests are part of a national day of action against Israel's war in Gaza, with over 100 rallies planned. Findlay has also reminded protesters that climbing memorials could lead to criminal damage charges. The British Transport Police have banned protests at several London train stations, anticipating severe disruption.
