French performers from different religious and ethnic backgrounds led a silent march in Paris to call for peace between Israelis and Palestinians and unity in France. The march included actors, singers, and other cultural figures and aimed to balance the global cacophony with silence. French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, expressing support for Israel's right to defend itself but denouncing civilian losses in Gaza. Thousands of pro-Palestinian and left-wing activists also rallied in Paris and around Britain to call for a cease-fire.
