Synagogue bomb threats in Massachusetts heighten concerns in local area

Police in three local communities responded to bomb threats at houses of worship in Massachusetts, heightening concerns for the Jewish community amidst ongoing tensions related to the war in Israel and Gaza. Synagogues in Needham and Hingham, as well as a church in Northampton, were evacuated, but no explosive devices were found. The threat to Congregation Sha'aray Shalom in Hingham came in the form of an email, prompting a thorough search of the synagogue. Cantor Steven Weiss expressed shock at the threat but praised the community's response and support.
