Pro-Palestine and climate change protesters sit-in at British Museum

Pro-Palestine and climate change protesters staged a sit-in at the British Museum to demand an end to the gallery's partnership with BP. The demonstrators accused BP of 'fuelling colonial genocide' in Gaza and called on museum executives to 'drop BP now'. The British Museum recently extended its 27-year-long partnership with BP for another decade in a deal worth £50 million. The protesters dropped leaflets detailing the museum's partnership with BP and how the energy firm allegedly profits from Israeli settler-colonialism. The museum spokesperson stated that peaceful protests are allowed as long as there is no risk to the collection, staff, or visitors.
