Lloyd Austin cancels Brussels trip for NATO as he remains hospitalized

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has canceled his trip to Brussels for meetings with NATO counterparts after being hospitalized for a bladder issue. Austin, 70, was admitted to the critical care unit at Walter Reed Medical Center and transferred his duties to Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks. He had previously failed to disclose his hospitalization and surgery for prostate cancer to the White House. While the Ukraine meeting will be held virtually, Austin will no longer attend the NATO meetings. It is unclear how long he will remain in the hospital.
