Cameron faces calls to restore funding to UNRWA to help ease...

Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron is facing pressure from a group of over 50 MPs and peers to restore funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Palestine. The UK, along with other countries, halted funding to UNRWA following allegations from Israel that some staff members were involved in the October 7 attacks by Hamas. The MPs and peers have called for clarity on the UK's decision to suspend funding and why interim reports from investigations into UNRWA were not enough to resume funding. The UK Government has stated that no funding is due until the end of April, pending the findings of a review by former French foreign minister Catherine Colonna and a UN investigation into the October 7 claims.
