Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev have published recommendations to overcome barriers to consistent home exercises in vestibular rehabilitation. The study identified six problems that hindered patients from carrying out exercises at home, including lack of motivation, increased symptoms during practice, difficulties in time management, lack of feedback and guidance, psychosocial factors, and related medical deficiencies. The research team formulated recommendations for physiotherapists to improve treatment outcomes and patients' quality of life, such as personal interaction and follow-up by a clinician, personalized exercises, and providing quantitative and visual feedback. Lead researcher Prof. Shelly Levy-Tzedek emphasized the importance of this study in improving adherence to home practices and treatment effectiveness.
