The US-built humanitarian aid pier off Gaza is expected to be operational in the coming days, according to a briefing held by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Response Director Dan Dieckhaus and US Vice Admiral Brad Cooper. Dieckhaus described the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, with the entire population facing acute food insecurity and famine looming. He also mentioned the health needs of children and the displacement of civilians. The maritime corridor, which will enable aid delivery, is expected to be operational soon. The aid will be screened and prepared in Cyprus before being transported to Gaza via ships and trucks.
