First Minister John Swinney has stated that he has no intention of launching an investigation into the conduct of his predecessor, Humza Yousaf, regarding his parents-in-law being trapped in Gaza. Swinney described Yousaf's actions as the 'normal routine business of government' and emphasized the importance of supporting citizens in conflict situations. Senior Tory MSP Stephen Kerr had called for a probe after reports emerged that Yousaf had lobbied the UK Government to help his wife's parents escape Gaza during the recent conflict with Israel. Yousaf has denied any wrongdoing and stated that no requests for preferential treatment were made for his in-laws.
