The Taliban has banned women from hearing each other's voices in public, adding to the list of restrictions on women's rights in Afghanistan. The new restriction applies when women pray and they shouldn't be loud enough for other women to hear. Activists are concerned that this law will prevent women from speaking at all. In August, another law was enacted, requiring women to cover their entire bodies, including their faces, when going outside.
