National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and lawmaker Yitzhak Kroizer have introduced a new bill that would strip Israeli citizenship or residency from individuals who choose to permanently live in the Gaza Strip. The legislation comes in response to reports that some Gazans acquired Israeli citizenship during recent conflicts to facilitate their departure from Gaza.
The proposed law would also prevent these individuals and their children from returning to live in Israel. Supporters of the bill argue that it is necessary to protect Israel's security and prevent those who align themselves with hostile entities from reentering the country.
