Environmental advocates have called on a former legal chief of the Israeli military to retrieve a cellphone reportedly thrown into the sea. According to media and police sources, the phone and its lithium battery are considered hazardous waste and their disposal in the ocean violates the Maintenance of Cleanliness Law enacted in 1984.
The environmental group warned that such actions pose an immediate risk to marine and coastal ecosystems, as well as potential harm to public health. They are urging accountability and swift action to mitigate the environmental impact.
