In a statement, Cleese emphasized his affection for Israeli audiences and clarified that the decision was based solely on advice regarding his well-being, especially considering his age. He expressed his intention to reschedule the performances as soon as possible and even offered to perform without a fee. The shows, originally organized by Alon Yurik Productions, were set for late November and early December in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
