Yavhusishyn, a talented sumo wrestler from Ukraine, was forced to flee his homeland due to the ongoing conflict. After a brief stay in Germany, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream by moving to Japan, the heartland of sumo wrestling. Despite arriving with little more than a suitcase and no knowledge of the Japanese language, Yavhusishyn was determined to succeed in a sport known for its strict traditions and resistance to outsiders. His connection with former sumo wrestler and coach Arata Yamanaka, whom he met at a previous championship, proved invaluable as he began to make his mark in the Japanese sumo scene.
