Syria has introduced a new official newspaper, Al Thawra Al Souriya, following the end of Bashar Al-Assad's rule. This marks the country's return to print media after a five-year hiatus, which began during the pandemic due to economic and logistical challenges. The new publication replaces the previous state daily and aims to reflect the experiences and aspirations of Syrian citizens, according to the Information Minister. Under the former government, media was heavily censored and closely monitored, with limited freedom for journalists and strict control over content.
