‘Haircut’ is a new documentary that follows hairdresser Alon Mizrahi as he offers free haircuts and a listening ear to soldiers on the front lines in Israel. Mizrahi closed his Tel Aviv salon at the start of the war and traveled to military assembly areas, providing trims and comfort to men and women preparing for battle. The film captures intimate conversations about the soldiers’ experiences on October 7, their fears, hopes, and the realities of war. Nearly two years later, Mizrahi invites some of the same soldiers back to his salon, where they reflect on how their lives have changed, sharing stories of loss, resilience, and survival.
