IDF officers: Potential kidnapping of soldiers in Gaza would change war

Five female soldiers were wounded in an ambush in the northern Gaza Strip, with officers stating that it could have ended in a kidnapping. The soldiers were attacked when a terrorist cell fired a rocket-propelled grenade at their unarmored military jeep. Reserve officers criticized the handling of the situation, noting that the area had been considered cleared. The IDF debrief indicated that two factors likely prevented a kidnapping: the damaged jeep managed to continue moving and a nearby unit responded rapidly. A second incident occurred as forces approached the overturned vehicle, resulting in one death and two soldiers being wounded.
