Jordan's deputy foreign minister, Ayman Safadi, emphasized that the Palestinians are prepared to negotiate, but lack an Israeli counterpart willing to engage. Safadi also stated that Israel's refusal to participate should not prevent other nations from recognizing a Palestinian state as a commitment to the two-state solution.
