Syrian refugee charged with attempted murder for February stabbing at Berlin Holocaust Memorial

A Syrian refugee has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a Spanish tourist at Berlin's Holocaust Memorial in February. German prosecutors state that the suspect, identified as Wassim Al M., holds radical Islamist and antisemitic views and supports the Islamic State group. The attack, which left the tourist seriously injured, was reportedly motivated by the suspect's rejection of Western society. Authorities say he sent a photo to Islamic State members before the attack so the group could claim responsibility. The suspect remains in pre-trial detention and faces additional charges related to terrorism.
