Federal prosecutors in the United States have charged Elias Rodriguez with hate crimes in the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, DC. The indictment alleges Rodriguez targeted the victims, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, because of their Israeli nationality. The charges include special findings that could allow the Justice Department to seek the death penalty. Rodriguez, who was previously charged with murder, is accused of expressing pro-Palestinian motives during and after the attack.
