Two men are on trial accused of plotting a gun attack targeting Jewish people in the north west of England, aiming to cause mass casualties. Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein allegedly planned to use assault rifles and pistols, which were smuggled into the country, to attack locations with large Jewish populations. The court heard that police intercepted the plot after the men revealed their plans to an undercover operative, and that images of the Manchester Jewish Museum were found on Hussein's phone. A third man, Bilel Saadaoui, is accused of knowing about the plot but not participating. The judge emphasized that the case is unrelated to a recent synagogue attack in Manchester, and the trial is expected to last up to 12 weeks.
