Pakistan has welcomed Syria's recent parliamentary elections, the first since the end of Bashar Assad's rule, describing them as a significant milestone in the country's political transition. The elections, held under transitional governance, saw voting for 140 seats, though some regions faced delays due to security concerns. Pakistan also praised the agreement to integrate Kurdish-led forces into Syria's national army, viewing it as a step toward national unity and the rebuilding of state institutions. Additionally, Pakistan called for the easing of international sanctions to support Syria's economic recovery and reconstruction, while commending efforts by regional and Western countries to lift restrictions. At the same time, Pakistan condemned Israel's continued military presence and violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, warning that such actions threaten Syria's stability and unity.
