Matan Angrest, a recently released hostage, has returned home to Kiryat Bialik after a week of supervised recovery. Following his discharge from a medical center, Angrest stayed with his family at a hotel near Tel Aviv, receiving rehabilitation alongside other freed hostages. On Thursday, he left the hotel wearing a scarf of his favorite soccer team, greeted by dozens of supporters, and made stops along the way to meet well-wishers. Upon arrival, banners welcomed him back to his hometown.
Angrest, who endured abuse during captivity, attended the funeral of his commander, Daniel Perez, paying heartfelt tribute to his memory. He also visited Hostages Square in Tel Aviv to honor others who remain missing or have died. The community continues to rally around Angrest and other freed hostages as they adjust to life after their ordeal.
