ALJ Motors, Toyota conclude hydrogen mobility pilot at PNU

Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, Toyota Motor Corporation, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation have concluded a hydrogen mobility pilot at Princess Nourah University in Riyadh. The five-day initiative featured four Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicles, with three serving as student shuttles and one available for faculty test drives, allowing the university community to experience clean transport technology firsthand.

Leaders from the participating companies highlighted the project's alignment with Saudi Arabia's vision for sustainable mobility and carbon neutrality, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between industry, government, and academia. The pilot included an interactive educational exhibit of the Mirai, raising awareness and providing insights into the operational feasibility of hydrogen vehicles in the Kingdom.

Findings from the pilot support Toyota's strategy of adapting carbon-neutral solutions to local needs, building on previous hydrogen mobility projects in Saudi Arabia. The initiative marks a significant step toward a hydrogen-powered future, with ongoing efforts to expand research and deployment in partnership with local institutions.
