Ultra-Orthodox lawmakers have strongly criticized Israel Railways for closing the Jerusalem Navon train station ahead of a large anti-conscription prayer rally in the capital. Members of the Shas party and United Torah Judaism have appealed to National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Transportation Minister Miri Regev, urging them to overturn the decision. The lawmakers argue that the closure will leave tens of thousands stranded and hinder their right to assemble and pray. They also point out that train services continued during previous mass demonstrations, questioning the legitimacy of the current directive.
