Liz Slaven, a schoolgirl in Scotland during the 1970s, unknowingly took piano lessons from Walter Hambock, a quiet and talented musician who had once been the pianist for Adolf Hitler. Hambock, originally from Vienna, Austria, was recognized for his musical talent by senior Nazis and spent several years playing for Hitler. However, after performing with a Jewish conductor, he was arrested and sent to concentration camps, surviving until the end of the war.
After the war, Hambock settled in Scotland, marrying and becoming a respected figure in the local music community. His past remained largely unknown until amateur historian Billy Watson uncovered his story in old newspaper archives, revealing the extraordinary life Hambock had led. Former students and community members remember him fondly for his warmth and musical skill, with his goddaughter now hoping to preserve his remarkable story for future generations.
