Israeli forces detained 442 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank in October, with the highest number of arrests taking place in the Bethlehem governorate. Among those detained were three women and thirty-three children. The arrests were often accompanied by field interrogations during Israeli raids, according to several Palestinian prisoners' organizations. Currently, more than 9,250 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons, most without charge or trial, and this number does not include those detained from the Gaza Strip. The issue of prisoner exchanges has been central to recent ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas.
