Official figures from the military reveal a significant rise in sexual harassment complaints within its ranks in recent years. In the first half of 2025 alone, 1,630 complaints were submitted, with nearly three-quarters involving incidents within military units. The data also highlights a sharp increase in reports of a hostile work environment, with complaints about crude and sexual discourse more than doubling compared to the previous year. Most victims are women, and the majority of alleged offenders are male soldiers in mandatory service. Despite the growing number of complaints, only a small fraction result in official complaints and indictments.
