Stormont Speaker Edwin Poots has determined that Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald's decision not to provide financial assistance to companies arming Israel is a matter of public importance. This decision follows a petition by members of the Assembly and comes after the minister announced measures to prevent public funds from supporting the manufacture of arms linked to genocide. Poots has written to the First Minister and deputy First Minister, formally referring the issue to the Executive for further consideration. The next steps will be determined by the Executive.
