A recent survey by the Israel Democracy Institute reveals a significant drop in public trust in law enforcement among Israelis over the past year. The poll, which included both Jewish and Arab respondents, shows that only a third of Israelis have confidence in the police, while the majority express little or no trust. The decline in trust is especially pronounced among Arab citizens, who also report high levels of fear regarding personal safety amid a surge in deadly violence. The year has seen a sharp increase in violent crime, particularly within Arab communities, as well as a troubling rise in violence against women across the country.
