Germany has inaugurated the first elements of the Arrow 3 missile defense system, purchased from Israel, at the Schönewalde base south of Berlin. This advanced system is designed to intercept long-range ballistic missiles and marks a significant upgrade in Germany's air defense capabilities. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius highlighted that this move provides Germany with early-warning and protection against such threats for the first time, reinforcing its central security role in Europe. The project, costing 3.8 billion euros, will see further installations across the country and is intended to be integrated into broader European air defense initiatives.
