Yogi also alleged that the opposition has helped illegal migrants from Bangladesh and the Rohingya community obtain voter registration and identification cards, warning that a screening process and subsequent action would follow. In response, opposition leader Mata Prasad Pandey expressed willingness to support a censure motion but questioned the chief minister's knowledge about the victim's identity, and highlighted the Indian government's role in providing protection to exiled leaders from Bangladesh.
