Foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries, together with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, have strongly condemned Israel's recognition of Somaliland as an independent state. In a joint statement, they warned that Israel's move threatens peace and security in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region, and constitutes a clear violation of international law and the United Nations charter, which safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. The ministers reaffirmed their unwavering support for Somalia's unity and sovereignty, rejecting any actions that could undermine its territorial integrity. They also cautioned that recognizing breakaway regions could set a dangerous international precedent and firmly opposed any attempts to link the decision with plans to relocate the Palestinian people.
