Requests from Israeli tech workers at multinational companies to relocate abroad have surged over the past year, according to a new report from the Israel Advanced Technology Industries Association. Over half of surveyed companies reported an increase in such requests, raising concerns about potential long-term impacts on Israel's innovation sector and its position as a technological leader.
The report also highlights that some multinational firms are considering shifting investments and operations to other countries, especially after finding efficient alternatives during wartime supply chain disruptions. Despite these challenges, the majority of companies maintained stable operations in Israel, and some even expanded their activities, reflecting ongoing confidence in the local tech ecosystem.
However, the association warns that without government action to ensure regulatory and geopolitical stability, there is a risk of gradual weakening of Israel's tech sector. The tech industry remains a crucial part of the country's economy, accounting for a significant share of jobs, exports, and gross domestic product.
