Iranian hacker group Handala claims to have breached the mobile phone of Tzachi Braverman, chief of staff to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel's designated ambassador to London. The group published photos, messages, and contact lists allegedly taken from Braverman's device, and threatened to release more sensitive information related to the Qatargate affair. The Prime Minister's Office responded by saying the incident was an 'old event' and described it as a data leak rather than a hack, though some of the exposed correspondence dates from the past year. The hackers assert they have access to encrypted conversations and evidence of misconduct, but have yet to provide proof. The breach follows a previous claim by the group that it hacked former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's Telegram account, which resulted in the release of personal messages and contact information for high-profile figures.
