Thousands of people gathered on Istanbul's Galata Bridge for a major rally in support of Gaza, waving Palestinian and Turkish flags and demanding an end to the violence. The event, held on New Year's Day, drew around half a million participants and was organized by more than 400 civil society groups, including one led by Bilal Erdogan, the youngest son of Turkey's president. The rally featured speeches and a performance by Lebanese-born singer Maher Zain, highlighting ongoing solidarity with Palestinians. Despite Turkey's role in brokering a recent ceasefire, violence in Gaza continues, with hundreds of Palestinians killed since the agreement.
